Turning Fragmented Research Into an Actionable Workforce Strategy

Four connected perspectives
  1. 01

    Understand the Organization

An interactive view of workforce structures, team composition, and distribution patterns.

How is the workforce actually structured?

Revealed why a uniform development approach would miss real differences between teams.

  2. 02

    Explore the Evidence

A multi-view analytical explorer for perceptions, barriers, existing practices, and research limitations.

What does the research actually say?

Made quantitative and qualitative evidence examinable together instead of scattered across reports.

  3. 03

    Identify Readiness

A readiness and evidence-gap explorer distinguishing confirmed findings from unanswered questions.

Where is the evidence strong—and where are the gaps?

Separated what could be recommended from what still required discovery.

  4. 04

    Design the Experience

A role-based program playbook describing activities before, during, and after the proposed experience.

What would actually help people perform?

Translated insight into a sequenced, peer-led program direction with clear responsibilities and outputs.

01

The Challenge

An enterprise engineering organization was undergoing a significant shift in technical responsibilities. Employees were distributed across specialized teams with different technologies, readiness levels, and operational barriers—a standardized learning solution would not necessarily address these differences.

  1. Uneven evidence

Research participation was uneven, creating an additional challenge: how to make responsible planning decisions when some teams had meaningful feedback and others had limited evidence.

02

My Role

I combined research strategy, workforce analysis, qualitative synthesis, experience design, and AI-assisted application development. I used Claude as a development partner to build original interactive React-based analytical and planning tools for internal stakeholder use.

03

The Approach

Four connected decision-support experiences formed the centerpiece of the work—moving from understanding the organization to designing the experience.

  1. 01 —Organizational Landscape

I developed an interactive view of workforce structures, team composition, and distribution patterns. The experience supported comparison and drill-down to explore why a uniform development approach would be difficult.

  2. 02 —Research Findings

I built a multi-view analytical explorer for examining manager perceptions, recurring barriers, existing practices, identified expertise, and research limitations. The experience incorporated data visualization and structured qualitative analysis.

  3. 03 —Team Discovery

I created an interactive readiness and evidence-gap explorer that distinguished confirmed findings from unanswered questions. The goal was to identify where recommendations could be made and where additional discovery was required.

  4. 04 —Experience and Execution

I designed a role-based program playbook that described activities before, during, and after the proposed experience. The playbook included responsibilities, expected outputs, practical application opportunities, and operational sequencing.

04

The Strategic Insight

The discovery suggested that performance challenges were not always knowledge gaps. Some barriers were operational, while valuable expertise and working practices already existed within parts of the organization. This informed a proposed peer-led, hands-on experience that connected people with relevant expertise and opportunities to apply what they learned to real work.

05

Value and Outcomes

The work produced four interactive artifacts that helped organize complex information and support an evidence-informed program direction. The discovery informed a proposed targeted approach to capability development.

  1. Evidence boundaries

The proposed sessions are not claimed as delivered, workforce performance improvement is not claimed, and enterprise-wide deployment is not claimed unless separately verified. No internal workforce counts, employee names, internal team names, proprietary data, or confidential research findings are published.

What This Demonstrates

  • Research-informed workforce strategy
  • AI-assisted application development
  • Quantitative and qualitative research synthesis
  • Evidence-gap analysis
  • Experience & program design
  • Turning fragmented research into actionable decisions

Reflection

“The goal wasn't to build more training. It was to understand what would actually help people perform—and make that understanding actionable.”

Any interactive demonstration accompanying this case study will be independently developed using fictional organizational information to illustrate research synthesis and evidence-based prioritization. It will not recreate, import, or reproduce the original enterprise applications, interfaces, code, or datasets.
